BPAPM, Specialization in Development Studies,
Paige is in the process of writing an honorary research paper for the final year of her undergraduate degree. She is seeking to understand if migration – that is caused by climate change – is worsening social development in urban areas of Bangladesh. Given Bangladesh’s geographical location and the increasing interest in climate change, Paige hopes to demonstrate that there is an urgent need in developing an internationally agreed upon definition of climate and/or environmental migrants. In doing so, she hopes that new processes for national governments, such as in Bangladesh, can be put in place to deal with the salient issue of climate change and the effects that it has in countries severely affected by climate change.
